Diesel prices fall 13 cents

div class="page" pThe average diesel price in the U.S. fell 13 cents to $2.81 per gallon for the week of November 17, 2008, 63 cents less expensive than it was one year ago, according to the a target="_blank" href="http://www.eia.doe.gov/"strongEnergy Information Administration (EIA)/strong/a./p pSince mid-July, the price of a barrel of crude oil has fallen from $147.27 to $54.95 mid-afternoon today, according to the emAssociated Press/em, leading to diesel prices dropping nearly two dollars per gallon./p pPrices are averaging below three dollars per gallon in seven of EIA#8217;s nine regions. The most expensive area for diesel fuel continues to be New England, where it averaged $3.15 per gallon, followed by the Central Atlantic at $3.07 per gallon. The least expensive area is the Gulf Coast, which averaged $2.75 per gallon./p /div
