In 1987, my family and I attended our very first Mid-America Trucking Show. My son, Isaac, was three years old and loved trucks. His dad was an owner-operator and loved trucks as well.

As we made our way through the exhibit hall, Isaac spotted a NAPA toy truck give-away and we entered his name into the drawing. As we walked away he kept glancing back at the truck while we explained he had to wait for the winner's name to be drawn. The NAPA sales rep ran up behind us and handed the truck to Isaac. He said he couldn't handle the look on his face! Isaac was thrilled, but now we had to explain to him that he couldn't assume he would win every drawing he entered.

We made the Mid-America Trucking Show our family vacation for many years. We drove to Louisville from Wisconsin each March for our annual trek to our favorite event. We enjoyed Reba McEntire, Brooks and Dunn, and our favorite group, Alabama, during the three-day event.

We have a lot of great memories of the largest trucking show in America and I plan to attend many more.
