Susie grew up in a truck. She knew from an early age that she wanted to drive a truck like her Dad. Susie noticed from an early age that there were not many women behind the wheel. After graduating high school, she successfully got her CDL in 1980, and went on her mission to break down obstacles in her way.
Susie has traveled for many years hauling produce out of California to Toronto, Ontario. She has been driving professionally for 41 years, 4 million accident-free miles. Susie won the first Women in Trucking Driver of the Year 2020. Susie is also on the Women in Trucking Image Team and attends truck shows at MATS and GATS to volunteer at Women in Trucking’s booths and Salute Behind the Wheel event.
Susie gives back to communities through her charity work, participating in Truck Convoys raising funds for Cancer Research and Awareness and also is regularly attending school events to promote trucking at the high school level through girl gala events and community colleges. She has won Women in Trucking’s photo contest in 2015, 2018, 2019 & 2020. Susie is featured in many trucking magazines both in USA and Canada, as well as podcasts and trucking radio shows as a guest and on Women in Trucking show with Ellen Voie. In March 2020, she was a cover for Port Magazine representing International Women’s Month. Susie’s most recent accomplishment was being chosen by Women in Trucking’s List of Top Women to watch in April 2021.
